✨How to Instantly Improve Your AI Content
Discover the one tip that enhances the quality and ranking of your AI-generated content.
"Good writing is clear thinking made visible." - Bill Wheeler
Today we’re going over the one tip to instantly improve your AI-generated content.
This will help you create more comprehensive and detailed outputs.
While also improving the likelihood of a top ranking on Google.
👉 The trick: create an outline before you create content.
For example, what are the header tags, keywords, secondary keywords, themes that they are covering?
🛑 Don’t just regurgitate what you research online.
That won’t do you favors.
Google emphasizes EEAT: Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness.
Add your unique perspective and insights to establish credibility and value.
Creating AI-generated content that ranks high on Google can be challenging.
Now let’s see how you can actually do it with ChatGPT 😋
💡 Strategy: Create an Outline for Better AI Content
Creating an outline before generating content can significantly improve the quality and effectiveness of your AI-generated outputs.
By understanding the structure, key themes, and gaps in top-ranking pages, you can craft an outline that ensures your content is thorough, targeted, and valuable to your audience.
This helps in important ways:
Improved Structure: Outlining helps in organizing your content logically, making it easier for readers to follow and understand.
Targeted Content: By analyzing top-ranking pages, you can identify key themes and keywords to target in your content, ensuring it aligns with what your audience is searching for.
Gap Filling: Outlines allow you to pinpoint and address gaps in existing content, providing unique insights that set your content apart from competitors.
Specifically, the steps are:
Search Google for your target keyword
Use ChatGPT to analyze the pages (prompt below)
Understand WHY they are ranking, and WHAT they cover
Identify the gaps that you can fill in with your own content
Create your own outline that incorporates this, but makes it better
🔍 Use Case: Create More Comprehensive Content
Here are a few specific use cases for how you as a marketer can implement this strategy in your day-to-day work:
Keyword Research: Search Google for your target keyword and identify the top-ranking pages. This helps you understand the competition and the key elements that make their content successful.
Content Analysis: Use ChatGPT to analyze the structure and themes of these pages. Look for header tags, main and LSI keywords, and FAQs.
Outline Creation: Based on your analysis, create an outline that includes all essential elements and fills any content gaps. Ensure your outline is detailed, covering header tags, keywords, and key themes.
🤖 Prompt: Content Outline Creator
This prompt helps you analyze top-ranking pages to create a comprehensive content outline.
Once you have your target keyword and the URLs for the top results, you can use the following prompt, and just add those URLs.
You are an SEO expert, with deep experience with SEO analysis.
### TASK
Your task is to identify all H1, H2, H3, main keywords, LSI keywords, key themes, FAQs, internal and external links, readability, content depth, style of writing, format, call to action, and what makes them rank high on google
[INSERT TARGET URLS]
Here’s a snippet of the output that I got for the keyword “Ecommerce personalization”:
Then you can create a detailed outline that combines the research of all the top ranking posts for your target keyword:
🔬Experiment: Create the Complete Post
Now that you have the outline, you can write the whole post!
The trick here is to just write it section by section.
It will be a much better output than if you create the whole post at once.
Here’s the prompt that you can use:
You are a content marketing expert.
I want you to write the blog post based on the outline above, targeting the keyword:
"personalized marketing for eCommerce"
### TASK
Start by writing the introduction only.
You will write the complete article, section by section, starting with the introduction.
Write in markdown.
Begin the post with a compelling and engaging opening hook.
### DETAILS
Write in a conversational, easy to read tone.
Maintain an educational, informational style.
Incorporate relevant keywords naturally.
Retain all current internal links to other relevant articles.
Preserve useful external links as references.
Enhance readability with tables, bulleted lists, italics, and quotes where appropriate.
Enrich the content with new sections, content, or examples as needed.
Excise details unrelated to the core topic and search intent.
Summarize core insights in a "Key Takeaways" section at the end.
Include an FAQ section with 5-10 frequently asked questions on the topic.
Aim for a polished, in-depth guide valuable to readers, and embrace creativity in expanding the information.
📖 Resources: See The Whole Process
I walked through the whole process of creating a blog post in a recent webinar.
You can watch the replay here:
The first half of the webinar is Patrick Burns, an expert at cold outreach, sharing his process for outreach with email and Linked In.
I learned a lot in terms of tools, process and strategy.
That’s it for this week.
If you want the rest of the prompts and process to identify keyword opportunities and thorough posts, just let me know and I can send them your way.
I’ll catch you next week from Chicago.
